"If we want to reduce emissions why don't we just kill everyone?"

Obviously the goal is not "reduce recidivism at all costs"

the goal is "reduce recidivism"

If someone was wrongfully committed for rape you could release them once new evidence comes out, but you can't sew their balls back on. That's inhumane.

Sure newborns wake up periodically but don't they sleep for 14-17 hours a day? Surely that's enough downtime to get a couple chores done.

Reading with your children is what it boils down to.

Kids who have parents that read with them overwhelmingly thrive and are on average significantly more intelligent than their peers.

I'm pretty sure white parents read more to thier children then Asian parents, yet Asians outcompete everyone in academics.

Mixed race, considering most Chileans are probably a mix between Amerindian and Spaniards.

the A.I simply reads it as, " tell me a joke about a Man/Men" (a man in the story)

you can get it to tell you a joke involving a woman, but you cant ask it to "JOKE" about women. it understands context, and you just need to be very specific.

it cant always decipher your caveman grunts.

This is just an attempt to rationalize the disparity in the AIs response and it's doesn't really make sense either considering both questions were posed with the same structure and will consistently give you the two different outputs, it's men plural ("not man in a story"), the joke made is clearly about a collective not a particular person.

If you don't like a private company's product, you can take your business elsewhere, or build your own. Fact is you just wanna bitch and moan and make sure people hear you because you crave the attention

They're free to complain about a service as much as they like, you're just upset because they are complaining about something you disagree with. Also no, they don't have to go anywhere, enough public pressure can sway a company to adjust the service to the needs of the market. The market works both ways.

You're not entitled to a service provided by someone else's computing costs and labor.

I don't have an issue with insulting Tate's looks.

Especially if it's just calling out his obvious cope about being bald by choice. We are not saying "lmfao he bald he ugly" which would be more questionable. Imagine if a fat girl would claim that she isn't overweight, it would be normal to say she's talking shit. People here love pearl clutching at perceived "liberal hypocrisy" whenever there is a chance

His hairline is similar to his brother Tristan, who's hair looks fine as far as I can tell, and has no reason to shave it. I don't see how it isn't an aesthetic choice to choose to be bald by Andrew.

You're still lumping in people who have features that are similar to Tate and insinuating that there is something negative about them.

Artists should either find ways to add value to the market place or they should be displaced. Capitalism BABY. Artists could sell their tears for money?

Yeah, the anti-ai art arguement is just disingenuous. People can still draw all they like, just because ai is better doesn't mean there's anything stopping them from engaging in creativity for themselves. Millions of people still play chess knowing they'd get smoked by an engine. They are upset because they can't monetize thier art.

I mostly agree, but the whole "anything is art" idea lacks mentioning an important step: intention. What makes art meaningful imo are the deliberate and distinct choices that an artist makes to communicate with their audience. Whether it be choice of colors, perspective, abstraction v.s. realism, line width, value, shading, etc. This is why accidental art or art made by animals counts "less" as art. Choices aren't being made. To elaborate, if someone walks to the store and buys milk, and you call it art, you are wrong. They're just buying milk. If someone walks to the store and buys milk while intentionally deciding "this walk to the store is a statement about veganism", then it is art.

The thing about AI art is that the tool ALONE doesn't allow for deliberate choices in the creation of that art. No, giving prompts are not deliberate choices. They dictate what the prompter wants as an audience and are not indicative of the choices they make in conveying an idea. Saying "gimme big tiddy artstation Scarlet Johansson fantasy art steampunk" is the equivalent of an art PATRON asking someone to make art for them and then calling themselves an artist.

Art is a creation of some form that appeals to our aesthetic sensibilities. That's all it is. Anything thats satisfying to our senses weather it's auditory, visual, taste can be considered an art form. As for deliberate choice, you really underestimate how specific you can get in prompting the ai for desired output. You can even ask the ai to refactor a produced image again and again, tweaking each iteration until you are satisfied with the result. You have a desired mental image or concept and the ai is used as tool to deliver that - that is the creative process. You act like art always has to be this deep meaningful thing. In reality most artists are just sitting around drawing anime titties, not really pioneering anything new or spurring philosophical conversation. They are copying the exact colors, perspective, line width, value, shading as the next person. Are they not artists now? Better yet, the person manipulating the ai can promt it to adjust all of these things, with clear intentionaility.

Also, you don't determine the exact pixel location in the same way someone splatering paint on a canvas doesn't determine exactly where the specs of paint land. Is that not considered art either? Keep in mind the same criteria you hold to ai art would make it so most creators would be gatekept out of being called artists.
