Why do some car companies keep the number of cars painted in different colors a secret, even though they routinely publish quantities of cars and models they make.
I have a car in a somewhat rare color and the car manufacturer routinely reports the numbers of each model but they keep the number of cars made in each color secret.
Any idea why they would so this?
Perhaps they don't actually keep track of it very well or is there some sort of trade secret value in not disclosing it?
My car is a 2002 Porsche 911 Turbo in Orient Red Metallic. I've only seen 1 other 996 turbo (2002-2005) in that color in all the years since I bought mine new.
It’s no secret that a large majority of people like the look of classic cars and trucks. So why don’t companies like ford just make the same car like a mustang from 71 or a f100 from 76 and just add safety features on the inside? They spend money redesigning and redesigning when I feel if they used the same body they would almost be guaranteed a lot of sales.
