Leah Ford

Chief of Staff

Leah Ford has more than twenty-five years of experience in the labor movement, improving the terms and conditions of employment for working people. She spent eighteen years at the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) where she served as chief of staff and counsel for the General Secretary Treasurer’s office, overseeing the operations of the IBT and advising top union leadership. Ms. Ford also provided counsel and advice to the chief negotiators of some of the largest collective bargaining agreements in the country including the National Master Freight Agreement and the National United Parcel Service agreement which covers more than 250,000 union members.

As a union representative, she organized workers in a diverse array of industries including poultry processing, furniture production, warehousing, private sector healthcare and public sector healthcare.

Ms. Ford holds a law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
